He brutally kills his friend for a totally mind-boggling reason

On December 17, 2020, an argument broke out between Kristofer Erlbacher and his friend Caleb Solberg. The cause ? Mayonnaise added by Kristofer Erlbacher on Caleb Solberg’s dish, who didn’t want it and punched him in the face. His friend’s revenge was terrible.

A story hard to believe. Kristofer Erlbacher, 29, was sentenced on December 10, 2021 to life imprisonment for a crime he committed on December 17, 2020. The crime in question? Erlbacher killed his friend Caleb Solberg, 30, by running over him several times while driving his pickup. And the reason for this murder is even more tragic since it was, at the start, a simple story of mayonnaise. According to Des Moines Register, it was in a small bar in Iowa that things took place. Erlbacher, Solberg and a third person were eating when Erlbacher put mayonnaise on Solberg’s dish. The latter, not wanting it, responded by punching his friend, Erlbacher according to the report of judge Greg Steenslan.

Vexed and hurt, Erlbacher is then left with the third person at a cafe 10 minutes drive away. During the journey, he telephoned twice to Craig Pryor, Solberg’s half-brother, to threaten to kill him and his brother. The third person, who had not been very involved until then, insisted on going to see Pryor to warn him against Erlbacher, which was inside the cafe. Solberg, who also arrived at the cafe, chatted with his brother before arguing with the third person. After these fights and when everyone was ready to go home, Erlbacher drove his car into that of Pryor who was in his vehicle. The latter came out to see the extent of the damage and was driven into it again by Erlbacher.

The killer sentenced to life

The enraged driver did not stop there, however. Around 10 p.m., Erlbacher also drove his car into Solberg and knocked him down. After turning around, he rammed him again and ran over him to make sure he had killed him. After the murder, Erlbacher, whose car wouldn’t start, called his father to come help him. He also called Pryor to tell him that he had just killed his brother. It was Erlbacher’s father who ended up bring him back to the scene of the crime, where he was arrested. Despite his comments that he did not intentionally kill Solberg, Erlbacher was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
