With intimate insights, a large documentary at VOX traces the incredible career of Helene Fischer.

“A phenomenon” (Günther Jauch, 65), “Europe’s greatest artist” (Stephanie Stumph, 37), “an ultra-professional legend” (Robbie Williams, 47) – “Helene Fischer spares neither stars nor superlatives. 15 years in the Rush of Success “(December 11th at 8:15 pm on VOX).

On the occasion of the anniversary of her first album “From here to infinity” in 2006 and with an allusion to her latest LP “Rausch”, the broadcaster Helene Fischer (37) donated a large documentary. In an interview with Janin Ullmann (40), the mega-successful singer and entertainer looks back on her career.

The three-hour documentary goes back even further than 15 years. Fans can see their successful application for the Stage & Musical School Frankfurt in 2000 – excerpts from a documentary by Hessischer Rundfunk from 2004. Even then, the admission committee attested that the later superstar had a “good face for the camera”. She didn’t even dream of appearing on the red carpet back then.

From the ox tour in the provinces to the big stage

Then the Mammut documentary traces her career, which is unprecedented in Germany. How the trained musical actress only ends up in hits, even though she wanted to make pop. How she does the “Ochsentour” (O-Ton Fischer) about small festivals. We see her first appearance on the show with Florian Silbereisen (40), who at that time introduced her with the internationally trimmed name of “Helen Fisher”. And we follow the development to become a major pop artist with her own personality show on TV and gigantic stadium shows in front of 70,000 people.

At the same time, we also get closer to the person Helene Fischer, who is described by all the interviewees in the documentary as warm and approachable. We look over the shoulder of the singer, how she works on songs from “Rausch” with her producer in the studio, how she pays attention to every detail – and shows herself emotionally. When she sings “Luftballon” for the first time, she bursts into tears.

Private issues (or even critical voices) are completely left out, except for a small account with the rainbow press. Her ex-partner Florian Silbereisen, for example, only appears in retrospect in strange excerpts from his programs, with strange outfits. 15 years is a long time.
