Players have recently discovered strange tunnels, suggesting that a new type of enemy could very well appear in the coming days. Fans of the franchise are not reassured, it is a big beast that risks destroying everything!

Helldivers 2 players recently made a disturbing discovery during a major mission to planets where the Terminide control system was established. These revisited planets featured towers surrounded by Terminide matter and strange tunnels extending into the ground. Some players are speculating that they could be the beginnings of the return of the fearsome “Hive Lords” from the original game.

A real trapping Gruyère

Unfortunately, these new tunnels represent a logistical nightmare for Helldivers 2 players. Indeed, many users have found themselves trapped after falling into these underground cavities, unable to escape.. Even the Patriot’s massive exoskeleton couldn’t save them, as some mechas were also swallowed up. This unexpected issue has caused frustration and dismay among the gaming community, who are faced with unexpected obstacles during their missions. However, some doubt whether these tunnels are large enough to accommodate these imposing creatures.

Others even put forward the hypothesis that they are rather worker tunnels or hive larvae, which does not reassure fans of the game.. In case this boss appears, players will have to be vigilant, as it is an enemy capable of creating many tunnels for hives and if players fail to kill it, it could destroy the planet. Most are found underground, they do not often show their heads to the surface which makes them extremely difficult to attack and eliminate. Therefore, we must seize every opportunity to overcome it!

Anticipation and preparations

Developer Arrowhead, no stranger to teasers, likes to give a taste of new enemies before officially integrating them into the game. This strategy is reminiscent of the introduction of the Flying Terminides earlier this year, where the game director denied the images, before these fearsome creatures appeared and decimated the players. It is therefore likely that players will witness a similar campaign of mystery and propaganda around what lies within these tunnels. However, hope emerges with the announcement of the next Helldivers 2 gear, the Polar Patriots Warbond, which could provide players with the tools needed to deal with this unexpected new threat.
