  • At the IAA Commercial Vehicles (September 19 in Hanover), Renault is presenting a compact, electrically powered camper.
  • The mini mobile home called the Hippie Caviar Motel is initially purely a show car.
  • The electric recreational vehicle can “fill up” with a range of 170 kilometers within 30 minutes and is partly made of recycled materials.

Small electric campers like the brand new Opel Zafira e-Life Crosscamp Flex make the start, larger electric mobile homes are likely to be seen at the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The “Hippie Caviar Motel” show car from Renault, which can be seen at the IAA Commercial Vehicles, falls into the former category.

The French manufacturer sees the expanded electric car as a “versatile and agile leisure companion for outdoor trips and sporting activities”. Some time ago, Nissan also presented such an electric vehicle for winter sports fans.

However, long trips far away from civilization are not possible with the E-Renault. The camper based on the Kangoo Rapid E-Tech Electric in the new long version offers a range of 258 kilometers (WLTP), the combined power consumption is given as 18.6 to 17.1 kWh per 100 kilometers.

There are numerous options on the body for accommodating bulky sports luggage. Inside, the rear seat bench can be converted into a sofa bed. Two people can then enjoy the view of the starry sky through the panoramic glass roof.

In addition, Renault relies on the use of recycled materials. For example, the interior floor is made from recycled tires and the shelves are made from recycled cork. The electric mini camper cannot be bought for the time being. We present you other camping highlights of the season at this point on Netzwelt.
