(CercleFinance.com) – Holcim announces the launch, at its Saint-Pierre-la-Cour plant in France, of its first calcined clay cement activity in Europe to supply ECOPlanet green cement with 50% less CO2 compared to with standard cement.
This production line, a world first, operating on its exclusive proximA Tech technology, will produce up to 500,000 tonnes of low-carbon cement per year, thanks to alternative fuels based on biomass and waste heat recovery.
This project is part of the Swiss group’s European roadmap to decarbonize construction with a wide range of low-emission materials, from calcined clay to construction and demolition waste.
