Horizon Forbidden West in reality, what does it look like?

Horizon: Forbidden West has just been released but it is already amazing gamers around the world with the beauty of its graphics. Immersed in a world where nature has taken over, it is impossible not to stop in front of certain panoramas. But did you know that several locations in the game were heavily inspired by real life?

Horizon vs Reality

The game was particularly inspired by the region of southwestern United States, where we find in particular the city of San Francisco, California, which even under the wild plants retains all of its beauty. Indeed, the Forbidden West, as it is called in the game, has a lot to offer and it is possible, by riding the back of a loader in the wild plains, to recognize certain places that the rest of us know.

ElAnalystaDeBitsa gaming-oriented YouTube channel, released a comparison video between the real-life elements the developers drew inspiration from for Forbidden West.

There are mythical places on the west coast such as certain hotels in the las vegas strip or even the San Fancisco Golden Gate. Although the game is a dystopia, we clearly recognize certain inspirations and references.

Californian players will therefore be able to set off, like Aloy, to explore the Prohibited West in order to find certain places that will be familiar to them. From France, we can still enjoy the Forest of Aloy, a forest planted thanks to the various trophies won in Horizon: Forbidden West!
