According to the National Weather Service, it is likely to make landfall near the Mananjary region late Saturday evening. Aid organizations fear a swath of devastation in regions where people are still suffering from the devastation caused by the previous storm. According to the UN Emergency Relief Office (OCHA), at least one person died on the island of Mauritius.

Tropical storm Ana devastated the countries of Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia, among others. Numerous buildings – including schools – and fields were destroyed, many people were made homeless. Southern Africa is currently in the summer cyclone season which can bring heavy storms and precipitation through March or April.
