Harry Kane surprises with new career option

Will the NFL get a new superstar from another sport in a few years? Harry Kane at least has this option “in the back of his mind”. The super goalscorer doesn’t want to rule out the possibility of swapping the ball for the egg at some point. At least he already has a very prominent advisor.

Harry Kane in the NFL professional football league? Maybe with the Super Bowl winner Kansas City Chiefs? Not excluded! The Bayern Munich goalscorer can actually imagine a career in football as a kicker after his career as a footballer ends.

“That’s at least something that’s in the back of my mind,” Kane told Sports Illustrated Germany. He has the feeling “that I still have many, many years ahead of me as a footballer – but so much can happen, things change so quickly. When it comes to the end of my football career, I might think about it a bit take a closer look and start practicing a bit,” said the 30-year-old. Making it to the highest level in two different sports – soccer and football – “would be very special.”

When making his plans, the Englishman could even get tips from seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. “It’s a shame that he doesn’t play anymore, I enjoyed watching him, but I’m happy that I can now call him a friend,” said Kane. Brady is simply “a really good guy, down-to-earth and always there for you when you need help or an opinion. He is now a partner in the English second division club Birmingham City and asked me a few football questions in the process.”

The Bundesliga has already given American football several great players, even if “only” in NFL Europe: Schalke legend Ingo Anderbrügge and goal scorer Manni Burgsmüller once played for the Düsseldorf team Rhein Fire. Burgsmüller, who played football for six years, scored more than 300 points and won the World Bowl twice.
