“I imagine you up there with the same white suit”: David Schwimmer pays tribute to Matthew Perry, his partner in Friends

While Matthew Perry died on October 28 at the age of 54, his “Friends” partners paid tribute to him one after the other. David Schwimmer, who plays Ross in the series, posted a moving message in turn.

After Matt LeBlanc, who paid tribute to his deceased friend with a very moving final joke, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, it is the turn of David Schwimmer to honor the memory of Matthew Perry, famous interpreter of Chandler in the series Friends , and who left us on October 28 at the age of 54.

“Matty, thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity”wrote the actor who lent his features to Ross Geller during 10 seasons of the legendary series.

“I will never forget your impeccable timing and comic delivery. You could take a conventional line of dialogue and mold it to your will, making it something entirely original and astonishingly funny (…). And you had heart. A heart with which you were generous, which you shared with us, and which allowed us to build a family with 6 strangers.”

David Schwimmer continued his tribute by quoting one of the most iconic episodes of the series, The one who had memories that were hard to swallowwhich many fans consider one of the best, and in which the six friends shared their worst Thanksgiving experiences:

“This photo is from one of my favorite moments with you”wrote the actor, in reference to a photo taken when Chandler and Ross were roommates.

“Today, she makes me smile and cry at the same time. I imagine you up there in the same white suit, hands in your pockets, looking around: ‘Could he REALLY be there? have more clouds?'”

A nice little nod to one of Chandler’s favorite lines in the famous show.
