Immigration law: towards a motion to reject? “There are arguments for, arguments against,” explains Marine Le Pen

The immigration bill arrives in the National Assembly on Monday. A decisive moment for Gérald Darmanin, because his text risks being the subject of a motion of rejection from opposition deputies. However, Marine Le Pen, president of the RN group in the National Assembly, leaves doubt. A favorable vote on the rejection motion, tabled by environmentalists, would send the text back to the Senate, without debate in the National Assembly. And while the Republicans are still hesitating, the votes of the RN could well prove decisive.

Group meeting

Guest of the Grand Rendez-vous Europe 1/CNews/Les Échos this Sunday, Marine Le Pen, too, seems to be hesitant. “We will discuss it during a group meeting which will take place tomorrow with all of my deputies and we will make our decision and we will make it known,” she declared at the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk. “There are arguments for, arguments against,” she said.

The RN MP criticizes the Minister of the Interior in particular for his lack of clarity around the text of the law, particularly on the question of the abolition of AME, state medical aid. “Mr. Darmanin says everything and the opposite of everything. There comes a certain point, he will have to explain his position to us with opponents,” she gets annoyed. “It is quite obvious that we are directly opposed to this immigration law which in reality creates a new additional immigration channel when we already see that we are overwhelmed by anarchic immigration,” adds -She.

“We can be opposed to a text for different reasons”

As for voting on the same motion of censure as her fellow deputies on the other side of the political spectrum, she is not opposed to it. “We can be opposed to a text for different reasons. It turns out that we are opposed to this text on immigration for reasons exactly opposite to those of France Insoumise. They consider that there is no not enough immigration, that we must regularize the whole world. We, you know what we think of that,” concluded Marine Le Pen.
