Indre-et-Loire: two assistants of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps targeted by arson

Two deputies to the mayor of the city of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps in Indre-et-Loire were targeted by arson on the night of Thursday 23 to Friday 24 December.

According to police sources, the car of one of the elected officials was completely destroyed by fire. The second fire, started on the doorstep of the other elected, was extinguished by the firefighters, causing only minimal damage to the walls of the house.

The town hall of Saint-Pierre-de-Corps, a town on the outskirts of Tours headed by a DVD mayor, confirmed these two fires, without “seeing an explanation at this stage”.

The public prosecutor of Tours, Grégoire Dulin, indicated that he had opened two investigations for destruction, degradation or deterioration of the property of others by fire.

The investigations were entrusted to the judicial police branch of Tours and to the city police station.
