Both iPhone 15 lineups could benefit from an extra amount of RAM in order to get better performance.

The iPhone 15 is already on everyone’s lips. While the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro have continued to sell like hot cakes since their release last September, Apple is already preparing the sequel with the development of its new family of smartphones, still scheduled for September 2023.

iPhone 15 and 15 Pro loaded with new features

Several information has already leaked on these two highly anticipated devices. We have thus learned in recent weeks that the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro should benefit from a new design, as revealed by the first renderings published on the Web.

The Pro model would be the one that would offer the most advances, with the presence of a new slightly curved screen for better handling. The buttons could also be replaced by fixed keys under which there would be haptic motors to simulate a click impression. Finally, the photo part would be the highlight of the show, with a new telephoto lens and a more advanced optical zoom.

The iPhone 15 could also be entitled to some changes, including the adoption of the Dynamic Shield, the dynamic notch seen this year on the iPhone 14 Pro. In addition, the iPhone 15 range could benefit from more memory, according to an analysis by the firm TrendForce.

6 to 8 GB of RAM for an even smoother experience

According to information from the firm, Apple could increase the RAM allocated to each of its phones from 6 to 8 GB of RAM. We can legitimately think that this improvement would be reserved in priority for the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which could also change its name to be called the iPhone 15 Ultra. This additional memory would allow the iPhone to offer even greater fluidity, but could also be used for the image processing capabilities expected on the next model as well as for ever more demanding mobile games.

Apple could also rely on a new RAM technology. Still according to TrendForce, the manufacturer could switch to LPDDR5X RAM, while the iPhone 14 Pro has just integrated LPDDR5 RAM. The iPhone 14 is equipped with LPDDR4X RAM.

This latest rumor should still be taken with a grain of salt. The change being very recent, Apple could very well have put an option on these components in order to obtain the quantity necessary for the tens of millions of telephones produced each year, but would only prepare their integration into the iPhone in 2024.
