It Takes Two celebrates its 3rd anniversary with 16 million copies sold

Released on March 26, 2021, It Takes Two has just passed a new milestone. In fact, the cooperative game has sold nearly 16 million copies. Enough to delight the Hazelight studio which proves that its title still has a bright future ahead of it.

After a very good launch with more than 5 million copies sold during its first year and another 5 million more for the second year of marketing, It Takes Two can therefore be described as a real success. A nice birthday present but it doesn’t stop there. Indeed, alongside 16 million sales, the number of players is now estimated at 30 million in total. A figure which can be explained in particular by the appearances of the platform game on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

For those who have escaped the phenomenon, It Takes Two allows players to play as May and Cody, a couple on the verge of breakup. Transformed into a doll made of wood and rags by a clumsy wish from their daughter, our two protagonists must then team up, despite their disagreements, to hope to regain their normal appearance. A game for two to play to get our two little heroes to take a step back from their relationship situation and help them realize that their daughter must be protected from all that.
