At only 42 years old, Sonia Rolland has already lived 1,000 lives. After her birth in Kigali, Rwanda, she left that country with her family to move to Burundi before joining France in 1994 to escape the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda. A few years later, she realized one of her dreams by winning the coveted crown of Miss France 2000. The former beauty queen retraced her personal story with many twists and turns in her first TV film as a director entitled An unexpected destiny. On this occasion, Sonia Rolland participated in the podcast Shadows and lights of Current wife And Tele-Leisure. The one who chose to become an actress after her year as Miss France, for example, spoke of the racism suffered by her parents. One of her strengths, as she further explains, is to be the perfect combination of risk and reason. “With everything I’ve been through […] it forged a very tough, very demanding character in me, but also with this element of dream and risk to which I cling enormously”she confided.

“Anyway, I couldn’t have lived a linear life, even if I could. By becoming Miss France, I could have married a billionaire, found myself on a boat drinking my bottle of champagne, but that was not my dream at all. I would have been bored. My life must have panache, it must have consistency, as much as everything I have experienced”, she declared again. Sonia Rolland confided that she had experienced a lot of drama in her life, as well she needs to reach a level of happiness equivalent to the level of sadness she may have felt. On the private side, the one who felt the need to spend her money after being elected Miss France was in a relationship with Jalil Lespert. They met in 2009 and gave birth to a baby girl, Kahina, a year later. Before the director, she had experienced a love story Christophe Rocancourt. With him, she had her first daughter, Tess, in 2007.
