It’s called Mach-Eau – Ford creates perfume with the smell of a gasoline engine

The creation of the perfume
Mach-Eau was created by the renowned perfume company Olfiction with ingredients that each represent certain elements of the history of the fragrance. Pia Long of the British Society of Perfumers, who has worked for some of the most famous perfume brands, was instrumental in creating the fragrance. Their starting point was studying the chemicals emitted from car interiors, engines, and gasoline. These included benzaldehyde, an almond-like scent given off by car interiors, and paracresol, which is responsible for the rubbery odor of tires. In addition, there were ingredients such as blue ginger, lavender, geranium and sandalwood, which set metallic, smoky and rubbery accents. Animal scent elements have also been added to underline the legacy of the Ford Mustang and convey the impression of horses.
