It’s even cheaper! – VW presents Volks-Stromer under 25,000 euros!

Volkswagen presented the long-awaited “cheap” electric car on Wednesday evening. Its provisional name: VW ID.2all. The first MEB Stromer with front-wheel drive should come onto the market in 2025 and cost less than 25,000 euros. But it will also be cheaper at Volkswagen in the future: Wolfsburg is working on a small electric car for less than 20,000 euros!

VW boss Thomas Schäfer cannot provide any information on what it should look like and what it will be able to do. “We’re working on it, but that’s not all solved yet,” said the manager in the “Krone” interview. Just this much: The entry-level electric car is scheduled to come onto the market in 2026/2027. And there’s more to come: by 2030, ten new e-cars are to come from VW.VW ID.2 (or something similar) comes in a Golf look More specifically, there are the prospects of the ID.2 or ID.2all or whatever whatever his name is. Only “golf” is out of the question, although the optics would suggest this name. Because in the side view with the wide C-pillar, one or the other Golf generation can be found. The whole appearance is powerful, stable, as design chief Andreas Mindt puts it. The rear would even look good on an electric Golf R. The fenders are also strongly formed. The front is designed to be friendly. Seen from the outside, the ID.2all comes in the format of a VW Polo, but inside it should offer as much space as a VW Golf. The invited guests at the world premiere were unable to verify this: on the one hand because the show car could not be opened – but above all because the interior is still far from finished. The dashboard of the current Polo is installed as a dummy. Performance data of the drive have not yet been given, apart from two details: The WLTP range should be up to 450 kilometers, the maximum charging capacity 125 kW promised cheap little brother. First of all, the VW ID.7 will appear in autumn.
