J Balvin: Singer is recovering from Covid-19 disease

The successful Colombian singer J Balvin fell ill with Covid-19. He asks his fans to take the coronavirus seriously.

J Balvin (35, "Mi Gente") contracted the coronavirus. The Colombian singer explained this in a video message at the Premios Juventud Awards, where he was awarded for the best music video, as reported by the British Guardian, among others.

The reggaeton singer is currently recovering from Covid 19 disease. "These were very difficult days, very complicated," he said. "Sometimes we think we won't get (Covid-19), but I got it – and it's pretty bad."

His fans should be careful

He advises all of his followers, especially young fans, to take care of themselves. "This is not a joke. The virus is real and it is dangerous." J Balvin has become a megastar in the music industry over the past few years. His music video for the song "Mi Gente" alone, which was released in summer 2017, has so far been viewed more than 2.75 billion times on Youtube.
