James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) Could Have Directed a Hitman Movie

If the series is today at its best with the recent Hitman III which was a wide critical success, it should a priori not receive other adaptations to the cinema in the future, given that it has relatively planted itself on this niche in the past. And yet, at the beginning of the years, another movie Hitman could have emerged and could have been entrusted to one of the most fashionable directors of the moment, james gunn.

A pitch that we would like to see, just for curiosity

You probably know James Gunn for his work on superhero movies, whether at Marvel with Guardians of the Galaxy or at DC Comics with The Suicide Squad. Very active on Twitter, the director answered a question asking him if he had already been tempted by a video game adaptation, given that the latter are multiplying at great speed.

Gunn reveals that yes, he even produced a pitch regarding a Hitman movie, which however was turned down :

A few weeks before we got the Guardians, I pitched a Hitman movie. The studio really wanted to hire me, but a producer on the project didn’t.. I was disappointed, but thank God, because I never could have done Guardians of the Galaxy if they had said yes! »

We would certainly be curious to see what a film could give Hitman under the leadership of James Gunn, but we can imagine that he gained a lot of money by staying on Guardians of the Galaxy (and he can therefore thank the producer who told him no).
