Jubilee of Elizabeth II: Swatch releases a tribute model

At 95, Elizabeth II is preparing to celebrate her 70 years of reign at the head of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. An event that the Swiss watch brand wanted to celebrate by launching an anniversary model.

Never short of ideas, Swatch has imagined a watch that pays homage to the inimitable style of the queen, well known for her colorful outfits. First sovereign to reign seven decades, Elizabeth II marked her time by her longevity but also by her shimmering wardrobe.

Candy pink, chick yellow, flamboyant green, sky blue suits and matching hats, the color is part of Elizabeth II’s signature. A taste for bold colors that the queen often combines with a small black bag. A look that inspired the Swiss brand. On her model tribute to Elizabeth II called “How Majestic” (How majestic), she indeed takes up the dress codes of the sovereign.

Every day its color

On an entirely white dial, the queen thus appears wearing her hat and gloved in one of her emblematic coats, the color of which changes every day, alternating between orange, pink, purple and even blue. To go even further, the brand has chosen to represent Charles’ mother alongside one of her faithful companions: a corgi. Dog adored by Elizabeth II since she was 18 years old and her very first corgi baptized Suzane, the queen has adopted dozens of them over the course of her life.

Combining homage and humour, this model will be available from tomorrow, Thursday February 3, a few days before the official date of the 70th anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II, who ascended the throne on February 6, 1952.

The festivities planned by the Palace around the platinum jubilee will be held in June, with in particular, among the most original initiatives, a pudding competition.
