Premiere at "Kitchen Impossible": Tim Mälzer cooks for the grand finale of the VOX show against two professional chefs.

For the grand finale of "Kitchen Impossible" (March 21, 8:15 p.m. on VOX or via TVNOW), Tim Mälzer (50) will not face one but two famous colleagues: Tim Raue (46) and Alexander Herrmann (49 ) fight for the honor of cooking in the "Best Friends Edition". But how does the program, which is normally designed for a duel, work with three opponents?

One cook each sends the two colleagues to a kitchen in which they cook a dish at the same time. As always, a jury will decide whether it will be successful. The duel Mälzer versus Raue takes place in the "Fränkisches Landgasthof Weichlein" in Wachenroth, Raue and Herrmann duel in "Shiraz" in Darmstadt and Mälzer and Herrmann in "893 Ryotei" in Berlin. The cook colleagues know their strengths and weaknesses very well, the latter are mercilessly exploited. For example, Raue and Herrmann have to deal with Iranian cuisine, while Mälzer and Herrmann have to conjure up a sushi and sashimi platter.

Mälzer: "We were partners and opponents at the same time"

"In this case it was fascinating to see because we were a classic love triangle," said Tim Mälzer, explaining the special features of the "Kitchen Impossible" issue in mid-February in an interview with spot on news. "We were partners and opponents at the same time. The two teamed up to perform against me and the other way around. A little sapling-change game of the highest order," added Mälzer. This combination of the "loudmouth Raue, the food professor Alexander Herrmann and the maltster from Pinneberg" was really fun, the Hamburg restaurateur sums up.

It is not the first time that Mälzer has competed against star chef and buddy Tim Raue; he has already invited his favorite opponent to a direct duel five times. "With Raue, the greatest joy lies in burdening him emotionally and with psychological terror," said Tim Mälzer in an interview with spot on news in 2019. At the same time, every minute that you spend in a room with Raue is difficult. "Of course, I always feel the need to hit him on the face. That distracts from focusing on the dish." The current score is 3: 2 for Mälzer. Alexander Herrmann was also a guest on the show: In season one he had to admit defeat to Tim Mälzer.
