Parliamentary niches have existed since 2008: the Constitution reserves one sitting day per month for the texts of opposition groups or minority groups (MoDem and Horizons).
The objective of this parliamentary innovation is to remedy the difficulty for a deputy, especially if he is in the opposition, to include a bill of which he is the author on the menu of the Assembly – where the government dictates the agenda two weeks out of four.
The pension reform came into force on Friday with 83% of the texts implementing the measures published, said the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt on France 2.
There are some measures that will come into force only in 2024 or even 2025 and therefore the decrees will be published in the coming weeks, he added.
