Light tiramisu, a simple, protein-packed recipe from a dietician: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

It’s the quintessential Italian dish: tiramisu. The latter seduces with its creamy texture and its mixture of coffee and chocolate. But this sweet pleasure is also a source of calories, which can sometimes dissuade fans from indulging in this treat. On the social network Instagram, dietician and nutritionist Hanna Bensemhoun, also known under the pseudonym @hannabens.diet, shared a recipe for “light tiramisu”.

This is not the expert’s first attempt. Recently, she shared with her community of more than 244,000 “followers” a recipe for “light cheese naan”, a cheese bread from Indian gastronomy. This time, she revisits this classic of transalpine cuisine with a light and balanced version, without sacrificing taste pleasure.

Tiramisu: how to make the lighter version of this dessert?

“We revisit tiramisu with a white cheese version!”, presents Hanna Bensemhoun in his publication, before adding that he will be “still very creamy thanks to the beaten eggs but much lighter and protein”. One serving of this recipe represents a contribution of 128 kilos of calories.

Before you start preparing this light tiramisu, make sure you have the right ingredients in sufficient quantities:

  • 4 eggs,
  • 200 grams of skyr or cottage cheese,
  • 12 spoon biscuits,
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa,
  • 200 milliliters of coffee,
  • 25 grams of sugars,
  • vanilla.

First, separate the egg yolks and whites. Then, Hanna Bensemhoun recommends whisking the sugar and egg yolks then adding the vanilla and skyr. After mixing well, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt and add them to the mixture. After cutting the biscuits in half and dipping them in the coffee, place them on a dish. Cover the biscuits then sprinkle with the cocoa. After at least two hours in the fridge, your tiramisu is ready!
