LineageOS 19: here is Android 12 for more than 40 Android smartphones


Lineage just released LineageOS for 70 Android devices. It’s a real makeover for old smartphones that are no longer supported by their manufacturers. You will therefore have access to the functions of Android 12 with the recent security patches.

The Lineage community has just launched LineageOS 19. As a reminder, this Android ROM was previously named CyanogenMod, it is one of the most popular alternatives for many Android users who want to enjoy the latest versions of Android with a more close toAndroid Open Source Project (AOSP).

Lineage 19 (19.1) is an Android version based on Android 12 code. The development team of this ROM is uploading Android sources, Android Open Source Projectas well as recent security updates Android Security Bulletin (ASB). On this version, we can thus take advantage of the updates of April 2022.

LineageOS 19 therefore brings the new functions of Android 12 with recent security patches, but without Google services. You can very well install them for the future if you wish. The Lineage team is also doing optimization and compatibility work, with several LineageOS apps pre-installed.

LineageOS 19 is expected to launch first for a range of Google Pixel devices, alongside 29 other smartphones.
