The train for Worlds 2022 is almost full! There is only one place left to take… so we already know 23 participants out of 24. The weekend was very busy in competitions and very many teams obtained the precious sesame. For those who haven’t had the time or the inclination to follow everything, especially within the so-called minor regions, here’s what you shouldn’t miss!

Teams from major regions who got their tickets this weekend

  • fnatic (LEC): Fnatic validated its ticket on September 2 by defeating Misfits Gaming in a one-sided Bo5. We are necessarily a little sad for Vetheo, but the level difference was too great between the two structures. It remains to determine the seed of the team… who can still claim to directly integrate the Main Event in the event of a victory against Rogue.
  • Evil Geniuses (LCS): there was only one place at stake in North America and the September 4, it was EG who got their hands on the precious ticket, beating Team Liquid. The structure will therefore have participated in the MSI and the Worlds this year, not bad for Jojopyun’s rookie year.
  • XRD (LCK): September 3 DRX secured its place for the Worlds. Deft will therefore once again be able to show the extent of his talent.
  • Edward Gaming and RNG (LPL): Seeds 3 and 4 of the Chinese league have overcome the Regional Qualifier, obtaining their place on September 2 and September 4. The casting is of quality with the world champions in title and the champions of the MSI in title.

The teams from the minor regions having obtained their ticket this weekend

  • Beyond Gaming (PCS): obtained his place at the Worlds on September 3 eliminating in passing the PSG Talon.
  • GAM Esports (VCS): Vietnam will be eagerly awaited and carries a lot of hope on its shoulders. Two teams will be part of the Worlds and we will expect a lot from GAM Esports who validated their ticket on September 2. This will be the opportunity to see Levi again!
  • DFM (LJL): the September 4, Japan crowned its champion. As often, it was DFM and coach Kazu who won the title, earning the right to be at the Worlds.
  • Chiefs Esports Club (LCO): in Oceania, the Chiefs will represent the region at the World Cup. They beat in the final September 4 Pentanet.GG with the score of 3-1. Tally, Raes, Babip, Tophoon… we find names that are not well known on the scene.
  • LOUD (CBLOL): Brazilian fans are always very passionate. They are likely to make a lot of noise behind LOOD, which was crowned Brazilian champion on September 3 by dominating PaiN Gaming (3-0).

League of Legends Worlds will begin at the end of the month. If we are impatiently waiting for this great celebration to begin, there is still a small problem… Barring a last-minute upheaval, there will be no French player present in the competition… The last one was released in the night.
