While we still don’t have a date for the release of Udyr’s revamp on League of Legends, we already know the identity of the next champion to go through the rework box. The results of the community vote launched by Riot Games have finally been revealed! Players had the option to choose between 5 champions: Tryndamere, Shyvana, Nocturne, Kog’Maw and Skarner.
The vote is closed and the big winner is Skarner, the Crystal Keeper!
Ska Ska Skarner!
It is therefore the Crystal Guardian that has been acclaimed by the community since it took first place in the world polls with a large lead. As a reminder, the champion is already more than 10 years old since he appeared in Summoner’s Rift in August 2011. He will therefore benefit from the highest level of redesign from the studio: an MVG, visual and gameplay update (or MGU in English which aims to change everything in the champion to make it almost new).
For those who had once again voted for Shyvana (remember that she has already been proposed in the last two polls), the rioter Reav3 still wanted to give some explanations – but also some hopes. He wishes to recall that not all VVMs are subject to the choice of the community (as was the case for Dr. Mundo) and that it is therefore not ruled out. She is even really well placed for the next MVG that the studio will decide without consulting its community..
The developer wants to give it a worthy update “because a half strap offers enormous potential.”.
In the meantime, it is the brand new Skarner that we should discover at the end of the year. Total redesigns taking excessively long, it is even possible that we will have to wait until early 2023 to finally see the Crystal Guardian 2.0. Nevertheless, we can be sure that Riot Games will share with us over the months the progress of its work on the champion.
Are you satisfied with this choice? Would you have preferred another champion from the proposed pool?
