Lost Ark: Dungeons Basics


What would a MMO without dungeons? Lost ark is far from answering this question, indeed it is not less than fifteen identified dungeons which will be proposed (no official figure is available to date).

Their variety is also in the spotlight since there are several types whose final objective always remains the same: to kill creatures and obtain loot of more or less high quality!

On the image below here is what we find:

  • In the center: the matchmaking during recruitment, it is not necessary to be in a group, the dungeons can be done with strangers.
  • Top right: the difficulty mode. The gray symbol on the left corresponds to Normal mode, unlike red for Hard mode.
  • Bottom right: the rewards available for completing the dungeon (difficulty influences the rarity of items). Just below are the options to start matchmaking or exit the dungeon window.

Leveling

Normal dungeons

1 to 4 players

These are the base instances of Lost Ark, you will find them everywhere, in every area and sub-area and you will usually be required to go there during a quest offered in the surrounding area. The difficulty is not miraculous there, nevertheless beware of the Hard Mode all the same!

Field dungeons

1 player

Very similar to normal Dungeons, those in the field have the particularity of being doable only in solitary. You will therefore have to rely on yourself and you alone to survive the challenges that await you. Don’t panic though, they’re relatively accessible overall, even in Hard Mode.

Secret dungeons

1 to 4 players

Doable alone or with others, secret dungeons require obtaining a Treasure Map in order to be discovered. Their entry is indeed not displayed on the map of the area, it is obtaining a Treasure Map on the surrounding creatures that will allow you to know that an instance is at a specific location in the area. zoned. These dungeons are generally very short and easy.

Dungeons of the Arch

1 to 4 players

These instances are among the first major ones you encounter during your journey since they are intimately linked to the progression of the story in Lost Ark. There are four in total:

  • The Ruins of Morai
  • The King’s Tomb
  • The Heart of Krater
  • The Palace of Dreams

They are longer than normal dungeons and can be quite difficult for some classes, especially if you are new to or are working in Hard Mode. Mistrust !

Requires Level 50: Basic Dungeons

Chaos Dungeons

1 to 4 players, doable once a day

Prerequisites

  • Level 50
  • 250 or more item level
  • Completed the Afterimage of Cracks quest in Bern Castle

these are the first dungeons of maximum level to which you have access, they are an essential resource to obtain a higher level 50 equipment. The access mode of these instances is very particular since each of their levels varies based on your character’s progress in the game.

The entrance to these dungeons is located in the major cities of each continent and takes the form of large statues at the heart of these.

Gates of Chaos

1 to 30 players, doable once a day

These dungeons are similar to the rifts in Path of Exile, they appear randomly in the world. Inside are elite monsters and interesting rewards. They are what you might call “World Dungeons” in a way.

Full play phase of a Door of Chaos

Abyss Dungeons

1 to 4 players, doable once a week

Prerequisites

  • Level 50
  • Item level associated with the desired dungeon
  • Access quest associated with the desired dungeon

Restrictions

  • Use of potions prohibited
  • Cannot change equipment in the instance
  • Skills that cannot be changed in the instance
  • Unchangeable combat items in the instance

These are the ultimate dungeons of Lost Ark allowing the acquisition of materials necessary for the creation of pieces of Abyss Equipment. These replayable dungeons are much more difficult than Chaos Dungeons, yet their access mode remains very similar (although the conditions are of course improved): their access mode varies according to the progress of your character in the game.

Among these dungeons are:

  • Elder Elveria (2 parts)
  • The Phantom Palace (2 parts)
  • The Crucible of Souls (2 parts)
  • The Great Gate (3 parts)
  • The Heart of Oreya (2 parts)

The entrance to these dungeons is located in the major cities of each continent and takes the form of large statues at the heart of these.

Requires Level 50: Unique Dungeons

The cube

1 to 4 players

This is a timed dungeon with a maximum of 4 players consisting of an infinite number of floors where you must kill all the monsters before the time runs out. However, a progress bar corresponding to a reward in the form of a chest is filled with each defeated monster. Once it is full, the ascent ends and you can exit with said chest.

Infinity Tower

1 player

It is a storied dungeon. The difficulty as well as the quality of the rewards increase as you progress. The objectives change from floor to floor, it can range from the killing of all the monsters to survive for several minutes to waves of creatures in a given location.

The Tower of Infinity

Throne Road

1 player

Prerequisites

  • Level 50
  • 1325 item level
  • Completed the Festival and Selection quest at Papunika
  • Completed the quest To the Throne

The Throne Route has the particularity of being feasible as many times as desired without any access conditions other than those mentioned above. This is a vast dungeons in 50 stages in which your objective is to cross the said road and defeat the final boss at the end before the time runs out. By doing this, you complete one of the stages and get the associated rewards. But beware: these rewards can only be obtained once!

League of Chaos

1 player

Prerequisites

  • Level 50
  • Completed the Rising Wave of Chaos South of Bern quest
  • 1 Proof of protection by entry into the League
  • 1370 item level in Normal Mode
  • 1415 item level in Hard Mode

The League of Chaos is a unique dungeon in which you face hordes of enemies on your own over and over again. To access it, you must not only have obtained the quest Become a member of the Knights in Berne, but also have in your possession a Proof of Protection obtained as a reward from the weekly Guardian Hari quest requiring to defeat the Guardian Hari.

Access to this dungeon is to the south of Bern.
