Lovecraftian myths come to life in DESOLATIUM on October 27

All Saints’ Day is fast approaching, and with it all the horror games. Today, it’s SOEDESCO’s turn to date the release of his horrific title. DESOLATIUMinspired by Lovecraftian myths, will terrorize players on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series and Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2023.

The elementary laws of physics have no place in this oppressive universe. The extraterrestrial entities that stand against humanity show no logic in their forms. Their constructions are beyond human understanding, and perhaps that is what gives them the advantage. But as soon as a feeling of fear arises in Man, they have already won. Because it is thanks to this that they strengthen themselves and push other intelligent beings to the edge of madness.

the developers of DESOLATIUM seem to have understood very well what makes Lovecraft’s universe so special. By transposing it into a point and click graphic adventure, the player can only feel helpless in the face of the horrors of this world. Everything was therefore focused on the atmosphere, even if it meant trading realistic environments for a more atypical graphic style. The whole thing is oppressive, alienating, enough to do justice to the Great Old Ones.
