Lufthansa is canceling free snacks for economy class – three euros per coffee

From next Wednesday: Lufthansa is canceling free snacks for economy class – in future three euros per coffee

Lufthansa will no longer serve free snacks and drinks to its passengers in economy class on short and medium-haul flights. In addition to Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines are also affected by the change.

From next Wednesday (May 26), Lufthansa passengers will have to be prepared for an innovation that most people will not like at all. The aviation group no longer offers free snacks or drinks in economy class on short and medium-haul flights.

Lufthansa: drinks and snacks for two to twelve euros

The company wanted to offer its passengers “a wide, high-quality range of food and beverages for sale”, according to a press release in which the companies dean & david and Dallmayr were introduced as partners. The prices should therefore move between two and twelve euros.

There will be a bottle of tomato or orange juice for three euros, as well as a cup of coffee, chocolate or tea. After all, it also says: “A water bottle and a small chocolate surprise are given free of charge.”

“Previous snack offer did not meet expectations”

“Our previous range of snacks in Economy Class often does not meet the expectations of our guests,” says Christina Foerster, Executive Vice President Lufthansa Group Customer, IT & Corporate Responsibility, explaining the reasons for the change.

“The new offer was developed on the basis of our customer feedback. With the fee-based, high-quality offer, our passengers will be able to individually decide what they want to eat and drink on their trip.”

In addition to Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines are also affected by the change.
