Lyon: a policeman injured after refusing to comply in the Guillotière district

Plagued for many months by delinquency, the Guillotière district, in Lyon, never ceases to be talked about. A police officer was injured there on Friday July 29 around 10:30 p.m. after refusing to comply, learned Le Figaro from a police source, confirming information from France Info .

The official wanted to control an individual who was riding a scooter without a helmet. After slowing down, the driver accelerated towards the policeman and rammed him, dragging him about ten meters. The officer and driver both ended up on the ground before being taken to hospital with multiple bruises. The police officer suffered minor injuries resulting in a total interruption of work (ITT) of 4 days. The driver of the scooter was taken into custody after leaving the hospital.

The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, went this Saturday July 30 to the Guillotière district to meet police officers attacked on July 20 during a check as well as residents and shopkeepers. To strengthen the fight against crime in Lyon and more particularly at La Guillotière, Gérald Darmanin announced the opening of a second detention center for foreigners and the arrival of a second CRS company, i.e. 70 people, which will remain in the agglomeration. “60% of crime is committed by foreigners in this neighborhood“, specified the minister.
