What if we witnessed the end of the investigation into the disappearance of little Maddie? On May 3, 2007, the 3-year-old girl disappeared while on vacation in the small seaside resort of Praia da Luz, in southern Portugal, with her parents Kate and Gerald McCann. While the investigation was closed in 2009 when it was at a standstill, a rebound occurred in early June when police announced they are investigating a 43-year-old German citizen.
While Hans Christian Wolters, the investigative prosecutor, announced the death of little Maddie before retracting, here is that the death is again announced by the investigators. During a press briefing held on Wednesday June 17, 2020, the German public prosecutor's office in Brunswick claimed to have "proofs"that Maddie died.
The body has not been found
As reported by theAFP at Parisian, the prosecution said it had "concrete evidence or facts (…) and not mere indications", while specifying that these were not "forensic evidence"This latest clarification from investigators suggests that Maddie's body has not been found.
Was the little girl really murdered by the suspected 43-year-old man? "I cannot, for the moment, reveal to you the exact information that we have which indicates that our suspect killed Madeleine"said the representative of the investigators.
