A magnitude 6 earthquake shook the southern Philippines on Wednesday (February 1st), reports the American seismological institute USGS, with local authorities warning of aftershocks and damage.
The earthquake took place at 6:44 p.m. local time (10:52 GMT), near the municipality of Monkayo in the province of Davao de Oro on the island of Mindanao.
