We already know turmeric as a small wonder tuber that has a digestive and anti-inflammatory effect. But turmeric is also really good for our skin. How you can make a turmeric mask yourself and what it does, you can find out here!

In the future, we will simply make our face masks ourselves: This way we know directly which ingredients the mask contains and do not have to worry about preservatives and fragrances! Most homemade masks don't even need a lot of ingredients: for a turmeric mask you will definitely have everything at home! First and foremost turmeric – the exotic spice from India is a real beauty booster, cares for our skin and makes it supple.

Make turmeric mask yourself: recipe

Ingredients: equal parts honey, yogurt, turmeric powder (make sure it is organic)

Preparation:

  1. Mix in equal parts turmeric, yoghurt (full-fat yoghurt) and honey (about 1 – 2 tablespoons per ingredient are sufficient for the face mask). Mix the ingredients together until a creamy paste is formed.
  2. Apply the face mask to cleansed skin – you can use a brush if you want.
  3. Leave the mask on for up to 20 minutes.
  4. Then remove the mask with plenty of lukewarm water and dry your face.

Note: The curcumin contained in turmeric ensures the spice's intense yellow color. Curcumin is very staining and quickly stains textiles. Therefore, make sure to either take off your clothes while using the face mask or e.g. B. to protect with an old towel! Your face will also have a slightly yellowish tinge after the mask – but this will disappear again very quickly. If you have any concerns, use the mask in the evening before going to bed.

That is why the turmeric mask is a real beauty elixir

  • Thanks to its valuable ingredients, turmeric has many advantages for the skin when applied externally:
  • Curcumin is considered a natural anti-aging agent because it traps free radicals through its antioxidant properties.
  • Turmeric also has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, which is why it can help especially with skin prone to blemishes, pimples and blackheads. But sensitive skin also benefits from the mask!
  • The other ingredients yoghurt and honey round off the mask: yoghurt smoothes the skin, moisturizes and promotes blood circulation. Honey also convinces with its disinfecting and antibacterial effect. Honey also contains amino acids that stimulate collagen production, as well as antioxidants and vitamins.
  • Your face looks much fresher after using this power trio and is adequately hydrated.
