Maneater: monstrous sales for the game with a killer shark

In May 2020, Tripwire Interactive launched Maneater, an action role-playing game presented as a “ShARkPG”, or “RequinPG”. A title that had five million players the following year, it was ported to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, but this week the studio reveals a huge sales figure.

Tripwire Interactive has published a statement To announce the appointment of Matthew LoPilato as the studio’s new president, his predecessor Alan Wilson now becomes vice-president. Co-founder of the studio, Alan Wilson had obtained the position of CEO of Tripwire Interactive after John Gibson was fired in 2021 following anti-abortion comments on Twitter.

But, at the bottom of the post, Tripwire Interactive takes stock of its previous successes, announcing that the franchises Killing Floor And Rising Storm have sold more than 30 million copies, a very nice long-term success. But the ShARkPG impresses him too, Maneater has sold over 14 million copies on all platforms, since its release in 2020.

The action role-playing game has brought joy to many players, despite only very decent ratings. In addition to the 14 million games sold, we must count the players who discovered it via the PlayStation Plus where the Xbox Game Pass. If you don’t know Maneaterit is available from €29.90 on Amazon, Cdiscount, Fnac And Gamesplanet.
