Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan were sued by two former employees for allegedly discriminatory statements – Duchess Meghan also plays a role.
Mark Zuckerberg, 37, is the founder and CEO of Facebook. His net worth is estimated at over $ 100 billion, making him one of the richest people in the world.
Mark and his wife, Priscilla Chan, 36, are said to have been sued by two people who worked in their household between 2017 and 2019. The reason: The couple’s former security chief is said to have insulted the employees in a racist and homophobic manner and also made discriminatory statements about Duchess Meghan, 40.

The former employees are Mia King, a black woman who worked as a security assistant and a gay man who worked as a household manager. Since the man’s name is not known, he is referred to as John Doe. In her twin lawsuit, which was filed in San Francisco County, King said that Booth is said to have often referred to her as a “ghetto”, among other things. Booth is said to have constantly made derogatory remarks about his sexual orientation to Doe and even hit him in the crotch in a restaurant in 2018. In addition, the ex-security chief was outraged by the “multiracial” Duchess Meghan: Booth is said to have said that Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry “polluted the royal bloodline”.

The allegations on which the lawsuits are based reached the public as early as 2019. Thereupon Liam Booth, who once worked in the personal protection of President Barack Obama, resigned from Zuckerberg’s “Family Office”. Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan are said to have now denied these claims. Her personal spokesman, Ben LaBolt, said in a statement that the company’s internal investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.
“As we explained when these allegations leaked anonymously to the media over two years ago, our family office follows a strict code of conduct that requires all members of our teams to behave appropriately. We expect all of our employees to adhere to this code of conduct.” says LaBolt.
In addition, every complaint made to her HR department is “taken seriously, investigated and dealt with”. According to LaBolt, they are “confident that these claims, which aim to unfairly denigrate our colleagues, will fail”.
