Monday March 21, 2022, M6 launched the sixth season of one of its flagship programs: Married at first sight. During this episode 1 once again rich in emotionsthe first duos of strangers said “Yes” for better and for worse… Except that for this new edition of the show, the ceremonies no longer take place at the town hall of Grans as in the past! Indeed, the unions of these potential future couples are officially sealed abroad, in Gibraltar!
As viewers of Married at first sight season 6, weddings no longer take place in French but in English, relocation to the British overseas territory obliges… Virginie Dhers, the artistic producer, explained during a press conference: “In Gibraltar, it is the civil registrar who marries. IThere is a ceremony with texts in English. We don’t see it on the air, but there is a translator. The participants also had sentences in English which caused some cold sweats! Otherwise it’s like in France, they leave with a marriage certificate.”

But by the way, why the production of Married at first sight has she decided to move these events? Virginie Dhers justified this choice: “We wanted to renew, so as not to tire people and go even further in the experience.” Undoubtedly, abroad or not, in English or not, this adventure will remain forever etched in the memories of the participants!
