Gérald Darmanin announced the preparation of a “new large-scale operation against delinquency and illegal immigration” and mentioned a maritime “iron curtain” to prevent the arrival of illegal immigrants. This would involve new technological tools and a greater commitment of maritime resources.

Gérald Darmanin announced, this Sunday, February 11, in Mayotte, an already controversial constitutional revision intended to remove land rights on the Indian Ocean island, facing a serious migration crisis and an explosive social and security situation. “It will no longer be possible to become French if you are not yourself the child of French parents,” he declared, assuring that this measure “extremely strong, clear, radical” and intended to “literally cut off attractiveness” of the archipelago, will be “obviously limited to the Mayotte archipelago”.

Prevent the passage of kwassa kwassa

The Minister of the Interior also gave indications on the establishment of a maritime iron curtain to prevent the arrival of illegal immigrants. This is a series of technological tools such as radars or maritime means intended to prevent the passage of kwassa kwassa, Comorian fishing boats which also serve to supply illegal immigration networks.

“There will be new means of interception,” said Gérald Darmanin in a video published on his social networks. The latter does not give further details, but promises a radical change observable in the very next few days.
