MBWS: project to rationalize its retail sales department in France – 02/03/2022 at 18:01

(AOF) – Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits has announced that its subsidiary Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits France has convened its Social and Economic Committee (CSE) with a view to announcing a project to rationalize its retail sales department in France , aiming to pool it with other group distribution entities. This project aims to safeguard the competitiveness of the group’s business sector, and is part of the proactive plan for strict cost control undertaken since 2019 to restore its profitability in the long term.

With the end of the pandemic in the more or less short term, which had punctually favored sales in mass distribution, the market should return to its downward trend.

The pooling of the commercial sales force dedicated to Hypermarkets is envisaged in a context of strong pressure from inflation of requests in commercial negotiations with players in the Large Distribution sector, amplified by changes in regulations, and by a sharp increase cost of raw materials, which cannot be fully passed on in selling prices.

This project would be integrated into the existing partnership with the other entities of the group, in which MBWS France would retain full control of the annual negotiations with the central purchasing bodies, the management of its commercial and marketing strategy and the development of its brands. .

This project would result in the elimination of 29 positions belonging to the Retail Sales Department in France, in addition to the creation of 2 positions.

The group says it undertakes to do everything possible to limit the consequences of the project on employment as much as possible and to support the employees concerned within the framework of the social measures that would be implemented.
