While Meghan Markle’s appeal against the Mail on Sunday is being held until Thursday in London, the Duchess of Sussex has made a confession that could cost her dearly.

Last February, Meghan Markle won her battle against the Mail on Sunday, sued for invasion of privacy after the publication of a letter from the Duchess of Sussex to her father, Thomas Markle, in 2018 (after her marriage to Prince Harry). The tabloid appealed and a new trial is held until Thursday, November 11 in London. From the start, defense lawyers have sought to demonstrate that Meghan Markle had done everything to influence public opinion. This week, a new element came to support their strategy.

Jason Knauf, former Sussex communications secretary, was called to testify on Wednesday, AFP reports, including BFMTV echoed. He revealed that Meghan Markle had been in contact with Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors of the unofficial biography Finding Freedom (in France : Free). According to this witness, the duchess exchanged “in person and by e-mail” with the two biographers on the contents of the book, which made the British royalty tremble so much.
