Mercato LCS: Maple would be TSM’s new midlaner

The most titled structure in history from League of Legends in North America went through hell during the LCS Spring Split this year. Finishing in ninth place in the regular season when many investments had been made during the last transfer window, TSM is far from its expectations. In fact, for the Summer Split, several changes are to be expected, starting with the midlane.

Still looking for Asian players, TSM would have decided, according to LEC_Woolooto recruit a real star position, Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang. He takes the place of Zhu “Keaiduo” Xiong, a young Chinese prodigy, who never managed to adapt to league level and was relegated to the academy in the middle of the season. Maple is best known for his performance with Flash Wolves at Worlds 2015. Thereafter, he continued to play in the best competitions in the world, competing with the best midlaners present.

In 2019, following many years spent at Flash Wolveshe decided to join the LPL, without really succeeding in imposing himself, then returned to PCS, within the PSG Talon last year. They will win both league seasons and finish third in their group at Worlds 2021. In 2022, the Taiwanese returned to the LPL, at Anyone’s Legend, with whom he had a complicated Spring Split. Although less successful in recent months, TSM would still have decided to bet on him to return to the top of the rankings during the Summer Split.

To be seen if this change will allow this but Maple will have to quickly integrate and perform since the competition is tough in North America. Other changes are to be expected in the roster since a few days ago, LEC_Wooloo had already announced the upcoming arrival of Choi “Mia” Sang-in at the support position. The South Korean arrives from Latin America where he spent a year with Estral Esports and reached the league final twice without ever winning it.
