Michael Caine remains Hollywood after all. The 88-year-old now made it clear that he will not retire.

Sir Michael Caine (88) does not retire from acting. Despite a statement that his film “Best Sellers” could be his last. A spokesman for the Hollywood star said “Variety”that the actor will not retire. Sources close to Caine said that he is currently reviewing two scripts for upcoming projects.

“As for retirement, I’ve spent over 50 years getting up at 6 a.m. to shoot films and I’m not going to throw away my alarm clock,” Caine said in a statement quoted by the US industry portal. And he also let his followers know via Twitter: “I’m not retired and not a lot of people know that.”

This is how the rumors came about

Rumors of the acting retirement had surfaced after the two-time Oscar winner announced on the BBC radio show “Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review” that his new film “Best Sellers” would be his last.

“Strangely enough, it turned out to be my last role,” he is said to have said, according to media reports. “Because I haven’t worked for two years and I have a spinal problem that affects my legs. So I can’t walk very well.” And he also wrote, “a few books that have been published and have been successful”. “So I’m not an actor anymore, I’m a writer, which is nice because as an actor you have to get up at 5:30 in the morning and go to the studio. As a writer, you can start writing without getting out of bed,” should Caine added.
