US actress Michelle Williams is set to star in a new biopic about singer Peggy Lee.
New role for Michelle Williams (40): The American becomes singer and actress Peggy Lee (1920-2002). The magazine "Entertainment Weekly" reports. The biopic is supposed to be titled "Fever" and shed light on Lee's life and career spanning around seven decades. Todd Haynes (60) is supposed to direct. A possible publication date for the project is not yet known.
Williams has received four Oscar nominations to date – for Brokeback Mountain, Blue Valentine, My Week with Marilyn and Manchester by the Sea. Although no more is known about the cast, two other big names from the entertainment world should still be involved in the project. Accordingly, Reese Witherspoon (44) should act as a producer.
Billie Eilish (19) could also play a leading role behind the scenes, as the industry magazine "Deadline" previously reported. The singer could be on board as an executive producer, but is currently still in early negotiations. Eilish sees Lee as one of the sources of inspiration for her own music.
