Microsoft is still accelerating in the integration of generative AI tools into its products. What to overshadow for example a competitor who feels growing wings, namely Notion AI.
Because Microsoft’s new collaborative hub, Microsoft Loop, leverages the Microsoft Office suite to provide a seamless way to manage projects and tasks. With Loop, users can create collaborative documents using any Microsoft Office application, such as Outlook, Teams or Word.
Loop mimics the collaborative nature of Google Workspace by allowing up to 50 people to collaborate on a document at the same time. Loop consists of three parts: Components, Workspaces, and Pages.
Components, Workspaces, and Pages
To launch your collaborative project, you start with workspaces. Here you can enter relevant keywords about your project and Loop will suggest the appropriate tools to use. Then the app creates pages that organize your content.
New pages suggest models, designs, and images based on your keywords. If your project requires input from someone outside your team, you can quickly break down parts of your project. This feature allows you to share only certain information, or an item, with people outside your organization.
Components can be copied and pasted into any Microsoft Office application. Pages can be shared as a web link or a live page. To comment on a page, users can do so directly on the page or choose to comment from their Outlook mailbox, like Google Docs.
Loop can be synced with Microsoft Planner and To Do
Within a project, you can add progress indicators to keep people informed of the next steps. Tasks assigned in the Loop app can be synced to Microsoft Planner and To Do, which creates a to-do list for you.
The Loop app can send notifications to your computer and mobile devices, notifying you of mentions, assigned tasks, and replies to comments. The app also offers security and permission controls, which helps keep your pages and components in safe hands.
Loop also works with Microsoft Copilot, which provides users with AI-powered suggestions for your pages and components. In your project, you can ask Copilot for suggestions, change the tone of the prompt, and ask Copilot to reformat your text.
The link with the programming tools
Once Copilot has created what you were looking for, you can share it as a Loop component in any Microsoft 365 app. Copilot can help you summarize information in Loop, edit summaries, and share it with your time.
Loop is available in public version on the web and on Android and Apple mobile devices. Most often, your company will first need to approve your access to Loop on the device they own. For now, Loop is only available on business accounts, so you won’t be able to access it on your personal devices.
