Montpellier: a seriously injured BAC policeman, a man in police custody


In intervention Tuesday evening around 9 p.m. in the Paul-Valéry city in Montpellier, a police officer from the BAC was seriously injured when the man he was controlling in his vehicle hit him by initiating a reverse gear before taking the escape.

According to information obtained by CNEWS, the 45-year-old police officer, hanging from the driver’s door, was dragged several tens of meters. He was able to free himself when he got stuck against a parked vehicle.

This tragedy caused him a major wound on the back of one of his thighs, at the level of the femoral artery. While awaiting the arrival of the SAMU, his colleagues were able to stem the incipient bleeding by establishing a pressure point which proved to be life-saving.

FEMORAL ARTERY AFFECTED

The police officer was finally rushed to the Dax hospital center, where he was able to be saved after undergoing surgery.

His attacker, obviously a vehicle thief, was taken into custody. A flagrancy investigation entrusted to the territorial direction of the judicial police of Montpellier was opened for attempted intentional homicide on a person holding public authority.
