MP Raquel Garrido was removed from the La France insoumise group in the National Assembly in particular because of her critical positions towards Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

Raquel Garrido was suspended Monday evening for four months by the office of the parliamentary group of La France insoumise. The LFI MP will therefore no longer be able to speak on behalf of the group in parliamentary proceedings.

“Jean-Luc Mélenchon has been harming the movement for ten months”

Raquel Garrido notably pays for her latest disagreement with Jean-Luc Mélenchon. She did not appreciate the rebellious leader’s inability to qualify Hamas as a terrorist movement. She notably declared: “Jean-Luc Mélenchon has been harming the movement for ten months”.

A pure and simple betrayal for the rebellious officials who accuse Raquel Garrido of having disseminated false information and of having denigrated some of her colleagues. The sentence of four months of withdrawal is a sentence similar to that of Adrien Quatennens for having slapped his wife.

“A rebellious criminal court”

For her part, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s former lawyer does not intend to give in and accuses her bosses of organizing a political settling of scores via what she calls “a rebellious criminal court”. “I am humiliated, angry. I am ashamed to see how the political movement to which I devoted 30 years of my life is evolving,” she explained.

Contacted by Europe 1, Raquel Garrido still has hope this Tuesday morning of obtaining a vote from the rebellious group. “Even Adrien Quatennens had this right,” she says. His colleagues, meeting in a few hours, can ask for a vote or align themselves with this decision, almost signed by the hand of Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
