A no-brainer recipe that everyone will enjoy

After a long day of work, we would like to have little to do except relax in front of our favorite show. Before you can fully enjoy your evening, you have to start preparing the meal. For all those who don’t want to worry, we have found the perfect recipe: a mushroom and Munster puff pastry. There is nothing simpler and more delicious. This interpretation of mushroom quiche is a real delight to try urgently, but preferably when the motivation to cook is not there.

The ingredients of the recipe for 2 people:

  • 1 puff pastry
  • 400 g mushrooms
  • 100 g of bacon matches
  • 1 onion
  • 60 to 75 g of Munster cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 egg yolk
  • some sesame and poppy seeds
  • Provençal herbs, garlic
  • salt pepper
  • 1 knob of butter

The steps of the recipe:

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 200°C.
  2. While it is heating up, cut the mushrooms and onion into thin strips.
  3. Melt a knob of butter in a large frying pan and when it has melted, brown the onion. Pepper. Then add the mushrooms and continue cooking until the mushrooms have released all their water. Once everything is cooked, pour in the bacon and sprinkle with Provence herbs and garlic powder. Cook over medium-high heat for 3 minutes. Then add the mustard and crème fraîche and mix. Reduce then reserve.
  4. Unroll the puff pastry onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spread the mushroom mixture in the center of the puff pastry and place the sliced ​​munster cheese on top.
  5. Slice the edges of the dough into strips and fold them inward to form a braid.
  6. Beat the egg yolk then brush it onto the puff pastry. Sprinkle with sesame and poppy seeds.
  7. Bake for around twenty minutes at 200°C until the puff pastry is golden brown.

How to reheat a puff pastry?

It may happen that your eyes were bigger than your stomach and you prepared too much puff pastry. If so, no waste, keep it cool and enjoy it later! You’ll be glad you don’t have to make anything for lunch the next day. To reheat it, all you have to do is put it in the oven about ten minutes at 180°C.
