MWC 2022

The Mobile World Congress, MWC for short, is the leading trade fair for the mobile communications industry. Until 2007 the fair was called 3GSM World Congress. Every year between the end of February and the beginning of March, mobile phone companies, smartphone and tablet manufacturers and the like gather in Barcelona to present their innovations to the industry. In 2022, the fair will take place from February 28th to March 3rd.

Apple

Apple will not be present at MWC 2022. The manufacturer from Cupertino prefers to present new products at its own shows. However, such a special event could follow Mobile World Congress a few days later. Apple is rumored to be launching the iPhone 3 SE in spring 2022.

Google

Google is represented at the MWC 2022. Here the manufacturer could surprise us with the release of Android 12 L. The Android 12 variant is said to be specially optimized for tablets and cell phones with a large screen.

honor

Honor will attend MWC 2022. According to the list of exhibitors, the former Huawei subsidiary can be found in Hall 7. What will be shown there remains to be seen. It is possible that the Chinese manufacturer will announce the European launch of its Honor Magic V folding cell phone here, which was only recently unveiled in China.

At least that’s what the invitation to the manufacturer’s press conference suggests. This will take place on February 28th at 1 p.m.

Huawei

Huawei is also represented at the MWC 2022. However, it remains to be seen what the manufacturer will show here. At the end of January, the top smartphones Huawei P50 and P50 Pocket came onto the market in this country.

Nokia

Nokia will only appear as a network supplier at MWC 2022. HMD Global, the company behind Nokia phones, is not yet included in the show’s exhibitor directory. However, it is quite possible that the manufacturer will still unveil new Nokia cell phones on the sidelines of the MWC.

OnePlus

OnePlus itself is not represented at the MWC with a stand, but the parent company Oppo is. It is therefore quite possible that OnePlus will use the trade fair in Barcelona to announce details of the market launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro in Europe, which was recently unveiled in China.

Samsung

Although the Galaxy S22 will be unveiled at its own event in early February, Samsung is still taking part in MWC 2022. In recent years, the South Korean manufacturer has used the fair to present new mid-range cell phones from the Galaxy A series, and the release of the high-end Galaxy Tab S8 tablet at the Mobile World Congress is also conceivable.

According to the latest rumours, this should be unveiled together with the Galaxy S22. Instead, the Galaxy ecosystem should be the focus of the MWC. Since rumors have been circulating about a new smart speaker from Samsung, it could perhaps celebrate its premiere at the MWC.

xiaomi

Similar to Samsung, Xiaomi is likely to present the European version of the Xiaomi 12 at its own event away from the MWC. Hot candidates for a trade fair release are, for example, the Poco X4.
