- Contrary to what its title suggests, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is not a simple adaptation of the eponymous album by Hergé. Indeed, the film combines elements of three albums: The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and The Treasure of Rackham the Red.
- Steven Spielberg has been an admirer of Hergé’s work since 1981, when a journalist compared Indiana Jones to Tintin. After buying the rights to the comic strip in 1984, the director had many scripts written and hesitated a lot on how to make the film (animation, live film…). After years of work, he finally chose “performance capture”.
