This is the thriller Gone Baby Gone, released in 2007. It takes place in the city of Boston, marked by the disappearance of a little girl. The child’s uncle and aunt decide to call in private detectives (played by Affleck and Monaghan). Throughout their investigation, the duo will delve into the hidden darkness of the city, where drug dealers, criminals and pedophiles reign. And when the truth comes out, it is costly, very costly.

If subscribers are fans of the film, they were able to highlight the many strong points of Gone Baby Gone. The first of them is the incredible performance of Amy Ryan as the drugged mother of the deceased and with a larger-than-life Boston accent (if you watch in original version). We can also cite its dark, almost sordid atmosphere, which makes the city as lively as it is disturbing. And of course the very well-crafted scenario creates truly breathtaking suspense!

Both connoisseurs of Boston, they transpose to the screen a novel by Dennis Lehane, the plot of which was already set in Boston and which is Affleck’s favorite book.
