New defense law includes strategy for DLT

Donald Trump railed against cryptocurrencies and rowed against the course of many of his Republican party colleagues.

Former US President Donald Trump recently reiterated that he is not a fan of cryptocurrencies. In the same breath, however, he expressed himself positively about the recently announced NFT platform of the former first lady Melania Trump. “She will do a great job,” Trump said of the NFT project in a conversation with Fox News presenter Maria Bartiromo.

See, I want a currency called the dollar, I don’t want all of these other currencies. That may one day cause an explosion like we’ve never seen before. The big technology explosion, on the other hand, will look like kid’s stuff. I think this is a very dangerous thing.

, said Trump’s dystopian assessment of crypto.

Not all Republicans agree with Trump

For that matter, Trump appears to be at odds with numerous other members of his party. Examples include Senator Ted Cruz, who is keen to attract more Bitcoin miners to Texas. Cynthia Lummis, who is known for her crypto-friendliness, is also a member of the Republican Party. It was not until this fall that the leading Republican tried the House Committee on Financial Services (HSFC), Patrick McHenry, to set incentives for token startups through a Safe Harbor provision.
