We start with the adaptation of the shōnen East, signed by manga artist Shinobu Ohtaka (Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic) and published in France by Pika editions since 2020. The story takes place in the 15th century in a mystical Japan under the influence of the Oni, evil demons yet worshiped as gods by the people … who know nothing of their true nature.. Only the Bushi, warriors, know the truth, but the latter are treated as outcasts. We follow the adventure of Musashi and Kojirô, his childhood friend and descendant of Bushi, both determined to overthrow the established order.

In the Land of Leadale

In the Land of Leadale announces itself as one of the flagship isekai of this winter. In addition to the anime, you will also be able to discover its adaptation in manga, the first two volumes of which will be published respectively on February 2 and March 2 in France. Basically, it is a light novel series presented as a refreshing and poignant isekai. Victim of a terrible accident and bedridden, the heroine Keina Kagami will live the last moments of her life playing “Leadale”, a virtual reality MMORPG. When she dies, she will find herself reincarnated in her favorite game, but 200 years in the future. Her first objective is therefore to understand what has happened during all these years and to find other players in the same situation as her.

Ranking of Kings (Season 1, Part 2)

This is one of the beautiful surprises of the end of the year 2021. Behind his childish air,Ranking of Kings hides a gripping plot, an original universe and characters much more complex than they appear. The story takes place in a world where kings are ranked among themselves. The protagonist, Bojji, is King Bosse’s oldest son, ranked 7th. But the little prince, naive, deaf-mute and frail, is the target of all mockery so that he starts at the bottom of the ladder. His meeting with Shadow, the last survivor of an assassin clan, will change his life and mark the beginning of his rise. Eleven episodes are already available, and twelve more will complete season 1 this winter. If you are VF lovers, note that a dubbed version is offered at the same time as the original version with Brigitte Lecordier (French voice of Son Goku) who lends her voice to Bojji. Finally, know that volume 1 of the manga will be released on April 7 at Ki-oon editions.

Attack on Titan (Season 4, Part 2)

Finally ! After the manga a few months ago, anime’s turn The attack of the Titans to find its conclusion with the second part of its fourth and final season. To say that it is expected is an understatement as the work of Hajime Isayama has marked the world of manga with its intense story and rich in twists. If you’ve never dived into it, know that the first seasons are available on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Wakanim or even DNA. Season 4 is to be followed only on Wakanim. As for the manga, it has been compiled in 34 volumes.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive (Season 2)

You may know Princess Connect! Re: Dive through the eponymous free-to-play mobile RPG developed by Cygames, a Japanese studio behind Granblue Fantasy. An anime adaptation produced by its subsidiary Cygames Pictures saw the light of day in 2020 at Crunchyroll, and it continues this winter with a second season. The opportunity to find the Guild of Gourmets in the fantastic world of Astraea for new quests and new dishes to taste. A light anime with a good dose of humor and quality animation.

Shaman King (New episodes)

Shaman king, one of the iconic Shōnen of the early 2000s, made a comeback this year with a new anime adaptation produced by studio Bridge (Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, Fairy Tail …). This will adapt the 35 volumes of the new edition of the manga published by Kōdansha, for a total of 52 episodes to discover. The first 13 episodes landed on Netflix last August, followed by 12 more in December. The platform goes on and will offer a new round of episodes on January 13. Recall that the work features Yoh Asakura, a shaman capable of seeing ghosts and of merging with them to use their skills. His goal: to win the Shaman Fight tournament in order to become Shaman King.

The Memoirs of Vanitas (Season 1, Part 2)

After airing its first episodes last summer, The Memoirs of Vanitas is back this winter. As a reminder, it was originally a manga written and drawn by Jun Mochizuki, known for Pandora Hearts. It is the animation studio Bones (My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 …) which is responsible for adapting this shōnen taking place in Paris at the end of the 19th century, when the inhabitants of the capital suffered from vampire attacks visibly plagued by a mysterious disease. In this troubled time, young Noah sets out in search of the grimoire of Vanitas, a legendary artefact feared by all vampires, before meeting a man posing as Vanitas himself. The latter has one goal: to save the vampires from the curse that hangs over them.

Dota Dragon’s Blood (Season 2)

Visibly satisfied with the reception received by season 1 of Dota Dragon’s Blood, released last March and composed of eight episodes, Netflix invites us to dive back into the world of Valve’s MOBA. Hosted by Studio MIR, a Korean team behind The Legend of Korra, Voltron the legendary defender and the future The Witcher Nightmare of the Wolf, the series features several iconic heroes such as the dragon knight Davion and the princess of the moon Mirana. As showrunner and producer, we find Ashley Edward Miller, co-writer of X-Men: The Beginning and Thor.
